The ranch is ideally situated for retired horses that need a safe place to live out the remainder of their life. Peaceful Pastures Ranch is located in Smartsville, California located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. We are below the snowline and the land is covered with beautiful oak trees, native grasses and a seasonal stream. The fall, winter and spring weather is mild and beautiful, summers are warm but typically are 80 – 102 degrees with low humidity. The ranch is located away from any major roads so it is a very quiet and safe. Access is all paved roads and we are 2 miles from Spenceville wild life riding and hiking preserve. We believe every horse has the right to enjoy being a horse. On the ranch its all about the horses! yes we spoil them with love and treats and make sure all of their needs are met to keep them healthy and happy. Horses are fed premium hay hand selected from local growers along with pasture grass. Complete feed pellets are from Elk Grove Milling provided to horses with dental issues or we can arrange to feed a comparable pellet of choice.
